The Benefits of a Backward Neck Press

The behind the neck press puts your shoulders into an inherently unstable position and research shows that can increase your risk of shoulder injury. To compensate for those two disadvantages, what you have to do is use a lot less weight than would use with a front facing press. And if I had to choose one exercise to train my side and rear delts, I'd rather use a standard bench press but given its shortcomings, it's reasonable to regard as a viable exercise.
