The Marines went in early to protect Da Nang and other air bases. The South Vietnamese did not want US combat troops in the Delta. When it finally came to put them down there, you couldn't put more than a brigade or two in. Now do you mention that there are a lot of different Coronado operations each with the number attached to it? What were they trying to affect against the Viet Cong?
