The Strange Conundrum of Learning to Swim
The film has, and it's hard, this weird conundrum that people who work the water don't swim. Don't land a swim. They can't be asked to put their life in jeopardy for somebody else. And there's also the suggestion that learning to swim is bad luck because it's somehow, if the water takes you, the water took you. Yes, it's very, this is bad. It is complete madness. But it's true.
