The Future of Inflation

In the age of Amazon, if you bought a widget on Amazon for $5 yesterday, you have no idea how much it's going to cost tomorrow. I think deflation is actually possible now, thanks to Amazon and dynamic pricing in a way that it never was before. But there are some big things that are still really sticky. The big one would be rent. If you look at a chart of median rent or average rent, it just goes up into the right with almost no dip - not even during a dip in rent? And that's just a big component in inflation overall.
