The Story of Peasant Agitation

In the spring of 19 o two, peasant mobs spontaneously started ransacking noble estates. These weren't lynch mobs, but they did seize all food supplies, grain and equipment that they lay their hands on. And then they would burn the manor house down,. reasoning that if the hated local lord had no home to live in, h they wouldn't come back. So all through the spring of19 o two, as many as 50 thousand peasants total, attacked and tortued about a hundred different estates.
