I think the world would have been happy, like a happier, better place had he not risen to power. If there's no World War II that we win, that somewhat stabilizes through the Cold War period. For all we know, the original Holocaust killed one million Jews and someone went back in time and killed the original dictator in Hitler rose to power. We have no way of knowing whether that happened. But these are the things you have to play the odds. And the Holocaust was bad enough that I would just roll the dice.
Special guest Eric Schwitzgebel joins David and Tamler to discuss the moral behavior (or lack thereof) of ethicists. Does moral reflection make us better people, or does it just give us better excuses to be immoral? Who's more right about human nature--Mencius or Xun Zi? What did Kant have against bastards and masturbating? Plus, we talk about jerks, robot cars, and killing baby Hitler. (Godwin's Law within 1:42--might be a new record for us).
