Amos: A Prophet's Proposal to Israel
Amos was a sheep breeder from Ticoa who prophesied concerning Israel in the reigns of King Uzziah of Judah and Jeroboam, son of Joash of Israel. The book is fatalistic. Israel and the ruling House of Jehu are doomed. Amos defends the poor and the downtrodden, those oppressed by the rich and powerful.
