The Story of Daphne Caruana, Galicia
Daphne Caruana, one of Malta's most famous journalists was killed by a car bomb in October 2017. A middle-aged man watching her through binoculars made a phone call to his brother - but it didn't last long. Seconds later, back at the car, there was a huge explosion and Daphne died instantly. This story is more personal than many others as I have called Malta home for almost six years now. So what I want to do in this first episode is to give you a little bit of background to this country,. It will help explain but certainly not excuse the events of this story.
