Why Deployment Is Critical for a Framework Like Django

I've noticed that whenever the word deployment comes up, there's audible groans and moans. So I was going to ask you guys, what's your thoughts on why so deployment is critical for a framework like Django? And then how do you teach that to beginners? Heroku could be more optimized for Django than it is right now.
