The Story of Griselda Escobar

In 1976, Griselda smuggled six kilos of cocaine into New York Harbor aboard a Colombian toll ship. She was said to have pioneered the tactic of motorcycle drivebys with a gunman riding pillion who would pull up next to her victim in shoot at point blank range. The DEA managed to track her until 1977, but then they lost her. And actually she'd moved to Miami. There she sort of hardened in her ruthlessness. Drug smuggling became the city's largest industry. It bought in about $12 billion a year, which was more than real estate or tourism.
