Do we think when a Russian unit commits atrocity, an execution of civilians in a Ukrainian village, does that actually renders evil? I don't know if it's possible to get into the mind of evil, right? But there is a long record of anguish, fear. A lot of atrocities are committed out of fear by your senior leadership. You must do X, Y, and Z, or you'll die, or you will be punished. So there's an enormous amount of atrocities that are inflicted in part through fear.
Evil is certainly a powerful force in our world. We are witnessing it live in the form of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. But is evil ultimately as powerful as it is popularly portrayed? Does evil perhaps contain in itself the seeds of its own destruction? Join David and Curtis in this week’s fascinating discussion about the inherent weakness of evil.
