Socrates and Jwanza: A Bad Faith Argument
Socrates is engaged in something called aristics which is basically he's seeking to win a debate or make his opponent look stupid. What Jwanza is doing is a kind of collaborative effort to come to a joint understanding of something that can never be reduced purely to words. He doesn't really dismiss the idea that conversation itself isn't useful but he comes to this view that the real thing that's going on in conversation is called illumination and he does leave it a little bit opaque.
