Cheepy comes back even later among spiritualist women as an occasional, what they call portal keeper or gatekeeper. And so if the kids don't do what the nanny tells them, Cheepy will come in the night and take them away. So in a weird way, CheepY gets integrated into the American psyche, although he's at ever less powerful levels.
