The Effects of Wheat on Blood Sugar Levels

High blood sugar sets in motion a process of hyperglycemia followed by hypoglycemia that gives you a two hour cycle of ravenous hunger. Another reason why wheat containing products make you fat is because there's a protein in wheat called gliadin. Gliadin is the active component within the gluten protein that acts as an appetite stimulant. This came from good science performed at the NIH in the 1970s and 1980s.
