Graph Versus Host Disease Risk - Blood Transfusions

In terms of the delayed immunological complications that involves delayed hemodiotic transfusion reactions or transfusion related immune modulation such as trim, and then sometimes patients especially who are immunosuppressed they can develop post transfusion graft versus host disease. Other some complications include iron overload commonly seen in patients with thalassemia and then the last very rare is crucified Jacob disease or CJ disease. So these are some of the complications that are associated with blood transfusion. It's what we deal with children who often sleep in the kenex but also we have children with born with congenital immuno efficiency syndrome. We often irradiate our red cells. Why why do we do that?
