In Revelation 22, he who testifies to these things says, yes, I'm coming soon. And then some sort of doxology. So it uses all sorts of literary conventions and symbolism. It's a prophecy, which means its orientation is encouraging the current generation of faithfulness. All of that comes in the form of a pastoral letter.
