The Importance of a Noninvasive Blood Pressure Cuff
If in doubt, put one in. I think you're unlikely to regret having it, unless of course the patient has a complication from an arterial line. Other indications would include the need for repeated blood sampling or failure of noninvasive blood pressure measurements. Problems with cuff fit and amorbileo base can often affect how well they read. Another factor is patient positioning. You have to consider either how positioning might affect noninvasive measurement.
