I wanted to write a book with a high body count. And started writing the book knowing that I was going to have to start killing people off at some point, but not really knowing who was going to be first or in what order they would follow. But it was quite a fun way to approach it because they were all contenders. It could have been any one of them at any time. The surveillance and manipulation can be so invisible and so intimate. So there's a very important moment where LeMoyne forces a connection with Maya's phone. Would you read that for us? Of course.
