The Goals of a Parapsychological Investigator

Parapsychological investigators look at every individual thing that's being reported and try to find natural explanations for it. The little boy in particular had a personal reason for wanting John to become involved in the case. He said, I'm afraid my electromagnetic field may hurt my grandmother. But when it comes to the hypothesis, the little boy's got an anomalous electromagnetic field. It would be hard to see how he would have one strong enough to do all of these things. So it looks like this is not electromagnetic paranormal but micropsychokinesis or poltergeistism.
