Exo planets are objects roughly the size of planets in our own solar system that just happen to orbit other stars. They're interesting because they provide us different data points for understanding actually the planets on our own system, and in particular, earth. And so it's a great way to get out there and study physics and chemistry ind ways that aren't possible in the solar system. We really don't have a large enough sample. So the really exciting thing for me is to have this sample of forty 500 planets to play with"
