The Importance of Persistence in a Career

I'm really big about promoting from within because talent is talent and you want these people to succeed behind you. When I got to CEO position, I was the only one in the boardroom with an MBA. Couldn't be denied. So you see a hardship turned into something that got me the ticket into the boardroom, finally. Wow. Every career is difficult. But if you take it personally, you just got to get outside that it is personal. Career is personal, but the fact of the matter is business isn't always going to go your way.
