There's a thrill to being with your friends, making your friends laugh. And that too is a part of establishing independence. It's kind of saying to adults, ye, i know it's wrong, but you know it, i want to do it anyway. So what you ultimately are arguing in your talk is that while risky behavior can be dangerous, it's actually really necessary for teens to learn and to grow.
