Atrial Septal Defects - What's the Difference?

Atrial septal defects account for about 10 to 15 percent of all congenital heart diseases. The incidence is approximately 1 in 1500 live first, and they're usually about 1.5 times more common in women compared to men. There are a couple of risk factors for having atrial Septal Defects including family history or certain maternal medications such as Velcroac acid.
