Dopamine Is the Molecular That Is Driving the Action
Dopamine is a molecule of motivation. The reason we do the thing isn't just because we want to receive the reward, it's because there is already dopomin there driving us towards that behavior. And when you think about it that way, it actually makes a lot more sense why social media is so ting. We do still get the pay off at the end, but there's also dopomin driving the actual opening of the ap and the scrolling behavior as well.
