What's Lacan's Wager?

Lacan: If you understand how desire works, you will understand how to treat someone. He says the child's demand for love and affection is insatiable. And so is yours. Nobody on this call has ever been loved too much. You may have had a helicopter parent or partner in your life that never would get out of your stuff. That's not love though. Love here means care. We can never get enough of it.
