The Pressure to Navigate the World Without Sexual Attraction
The ACE experience is very diverse, but I think one thing that people always say is that there is this pressure that they need to discover that they experience sexual attraction. A lot of times, as women will be told, you're not really ACE. This is just patriarchy. You need to go out and liberate the woman within. There is this contradicting narrative around our natural desire and lust and long for sex that we must tame. Actually, in order to be productive in the world and to be good partners, not sit in that lust and desire.
