The Importance of Reading Strategy Instruction
The strategy of prediction is one where we might make an anticipatory frame or assumption about where a text is going. And in making a prediction, we then read and check the incoming information from the text to see if our prediction was accurate. The nice middle ground is reading strategy instruction, where kids have a working knowledge of what the heck they're reading are not a bad way to go.
