The Role of a BQ Scan in Determining the Cause of Pulmonary Hypertension

Based on the right heart cath result, we were concerned about pre-capillary pulmonary hypertension. We wanted to get a BQ scan to evaluate for a chrono thromboembolic pulmonary embolism given this patient's history of DVT and not getting full treatment with anticoagulation. And in some cases, BQ scans when compared to CTPA does have higher sensitivity for detecting CTF. Some additional labs and diagnostics we obtained included an ANA level, HIV, an hepatitis panel, which were all negatives.
