Ask yourself, is this true? Am I this emotion? Is this really my identity right now? No matter what answer you come up with, notice any other way you identify yourself. Now again, turn your attention to the emotion and say to yourself, I notice this emotion. See that if you relax and let go of any clutching against the feeling that it comes, it passes through and it leaves. You are like the sky. The emotion is like a passing cloud. Just one cloud among many passing through the clear sky of awareness that you are.
