The Importance of Solidarity in Organizations
I think solidarity is underused as a term and underestimated as a powerful tool. It's widely seen as a kind of crisis that during World War II, political and voluntary leaders realized there was all this demand and interest in doing something for the war effort. There was a shortage of places where they could organize meaningful contributions that weren't seen as useless make work by volunteers. We don't know how to make volunteer sort of amateur contributions helpful to the effort.
