The Role of Women in the Church

Before the Industrial Revolution, women played a central economic role in the household. But as the factory rather than the home became the center of production, women placed a new emphasis on their role as nurturers. Many Christians do not agree with the old traditions of women being completely submissive to their husbands or to men at all.
