The Unplayable Concerto by Leopold Hour
Leopold Hour was meant to be the first violinist to perform the piece, but in a snub that wounded Tchaikovsky to his core, hour refused to perform it. Hours edits have actually found their way into the solo part that is still published today. In terms of the music itself, this build-up leads us to one of the most exhilarating parts of the piece, a massive orchestral section based on the first theme.
