If you're clear that it really absolutely does not work for you to have the cat in the bedroom at night, then that's non-negotiable. Not responding to the cat trying to get it with the bedroom also makes sense. To me, potentially throwing out a lot of information about strength of preferences seems like something that I'm very, I think can be bad for relationships.
