The Effect of Cumulative Bias
Bias doesn't just happen once. People experience this kind of discrimination frequently, and it was difficult to get a handle on the true impact. We created a computer simulation of a workplace in which we introduced a handful of the very common kinds of bias. And then we ran this simulation to see what would happen. Itit kind of demonstrated that even small amounts of bias, if they are experienced many, many times over a long period of time, can have really severe and detrimental consequences.
