There is a massive power imbalance between people who are using devices without really understanding how they work. We need to integrate what we're studying at the university with the sort of data science that's being done in the public and private sectors. Ken Bernoyt, director of Alice's Data Science Institute: What private companies are paying to develop are secrets are going to make them competitive against rivals. So figuring out some way forward that's healthy for the world and not just for the bottom line of a few companies is a real challenge.
