120 grams of glucose per day is largely generating a little bit of ATP for astrocytes and a lot of the ATP for neurons after it's converted to two molecules of lactate by the astrocyte. So then the normal food of neurons is lactate and lactate can be replaced by ketones on a ketogenic diet. But you can't get rid of the last 25% in part because glucose does other things besides just act as a fuel for ATP in anaerobic glycolysis in the astroCyte.
