We want to be ahead in the game. That's what sports makes it an easy metaphor for us to play off of. We acknowledge that scoring points just for the sake of scoring points can be prideful and selfish, but get a started on some things you want to talk about in this episode. I'm not trying to be a better dad than Lawson Brown. And so there's always somebody who has to lose in a sporting equation.
Whether you're a "big man on campus" or the guy quietly working behind the scenes, you want to know how to measure success as a man—how many points you're scoring in any given area in life. And you're not alone in that. To use sports analogies, we all want to know that we're putting the ball in the basket or moving closer to our goal.
