What's the Difference Between a Think Pad and an Open Source Think Pad?

Ghost pads are ruggedized machines that would really have a reputation witwstanding a beating, and they're very well made. They come with the factory bios, which is basically the softer that runs before your operating system. And on top of that, deep down in they have the intel management engine. So what i'm doing is i'm removing the factory bios with the linovo additions,. I'm also removing the entire intel management engine and replacing them with open source alternatives.
