The Importance of Statistical Knowledge

If you have the statistical knowledge if you can read a scientific paper at least somewhat i'm not pretending that i know this inside out i don't. Most of us are not doctors and we're not epidemiologists or biologists from pharmacy experts so how do you evaluate the claims well you look for people you trust.
