The board's book is an elaboration, a much more sophisticated elaboration of Marx's concept of ideology. Ideology was just the ruling class's representation of its own interests as being in the interests of everyone. In this book, we get something that's not just some sort of hamfisted proclamation or propaganda doled out by the bourgeoisie. It is woven into the fabric of a capitalist society.
