Many other Jewish bankers in, in Germany and elsewhere, converted. But the Rothschilds really stayed as a beacon of visible Jewish wealth. It's like they were so rich that even the rules for other wealthy Jews did not apply as much to them. And I mean, it's hard not to believe that there was a lot of resentment from the people who converted.
