The platypus is a mammal native to eastern australia, tasmania and the surrounding islands. They have fur like a mammal, but a bill that looks like it belongs on a bird. Males have spurs on their hind legs that are equipped with venom glands. It took european naturalists quite a while to figure out the whole milk production and egg laying situation.
