Movies are the most incredible tool that we have building empathy. I think you have to fall in love with these characters and feel like you know them, and then realize that you don't. There's a connectedness to your kid where it's hard to disconnect. And what matters as a parent is loving your child and extending an effort so they can be their own person on their own journey.
