Did Medieval Peasants Have More Vacation Days Than You?

The average American works 1,949 hours a year and in 13th century England, they worked 1,620 hours. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average person who's been working for a year gets 10 to 14 vacation days a year. The claim is usually attributed to Juliet Shor, a professor of sociology at Boston College. So even counting weekends, holidays, and vacation, that's still way better than we're doing now.
