Dad, Did You Work in the Newsroom?

Dad used to phone in and dictate the news stories over the phone. In broadcasting, there isn't an awful lot of space in a news bulletin. So it has to be very concise. And normally it sticks to the serious news. It doesn't have time for any trivia. But there is a bit of a tradition of ending up on something to give you a smile at the end of the news. They call it the and finally. Finally, it says the news reader, and then it's something a bit bizarre. Birmingham residents were treated to an interesting display when this balloon demonstration went wrong.
