The History of Whiteness in Australia
In Australia, we can see a constant movement around who is feared and therefore how whiteness is secured. And so waves of panic around Asian migration in the 1990s moves to then concerns around Middle Eastern or Lebanese migration. There's this constant waves of concern that fix upon an other culture and other existence which is really rooted in the illegitimacy of the settler state to begin with.
