Interviewing People Remotely Gives You a Whole New Set of Biases
Interviewing people remotely gives you insight into so many new signals that you don't get to see when you're interviewing people in person. Internet quality is really important to look out for because if somebody's internet is like a little bit fuzzy, they're going to sound less intelligent than somebody who's saying the exact same thing over quality that's really good. So there are all these new factors that don't exist when somebody walks into an office and just talks to you in a meeting room. And I think it's really important for people to be trained on looking out for that kind of stuff and recognizing that that might impact your opinion of somebody whenYou're interviewing them.
