I think something that's interesting here, and i read that article on this two years ago, is that the millioners who tend to hit the public eye tend to be a lot more progressive and left leaning than millioners who don't. Do think there is something to the fact that actually the extreme wealth in equality that we are seeing and climate change are really deeply tied together. In order to address climate change, we are going to dramatically need to re we distribute a lot of the way that wealth flows in this country.
The relationship between structure and impact is an important one for organizations to explore. The same goes for social movements. The Sunrise Movement is a youth-led coalition on a mission to stop climate change—and recently, they placed their own OS under a microscope: How should the org make decisions? How should its principles evolve? How could it balance centralization and decentralization? Sunrise asked itself these questions to help design a structure capable of meeting our current climate moment.
