The Davi Affair in New Orleans
The slaying of Joseph Tavi was a new escalation for the cleaver. Up until that point, the phantom attacker hadn't claimed a life. As soon as the press caught wind of the crime, Joe's murder became a city-wide affair. In light of the public attention, the New Orleans police found themselves having to assure citizens that they'd find the killer in their city.
