AI-Edited Images and Videos Can Implant False Memories and Distort Recollection:
- AI-edited images and especially AI-generated videos can cause people to confidently remember events that never happened.

- Participants were first shown original images, then after a delay they were shown a stimulus corresponding to their assigned condition, and later memory tests were applied to check recall and confidence.
- Across 200 participants: AI-generated videos made from AI-edited images created 2.05× more false memories.
- They were also more confident in those false memories (1.19× increase)
